As we all know, there are millions or more of online affiliate programs available on internet for us to join and generate extra Income. The trick is to find the one that really pay us for our efforts. There are many individuals who have spent days and months working on certain affiliate programs with little or no success. With that in mind, here are some tips to finds affiliate programs that really pay you.

What is free affiliate program?

Almost all affiliate programs and networks are free to join that pays you curtain percentage of commission from your generated sales & leads. The commission rate can be various for affiliate programs to programs or network to network but ideally from 10% up to 90% but depend. Some affiliate programs are not free and to join them you must buy their some products to join and promote them. Forget these paid affiliate programs!

Below are some free affiliate programs. I must say that again that this is not compulsory that you get all the paying affiliate programs. Beware of them.

1.     Big is always the best:

Yes, I must say you that all of big brands are really paying for your efforts for your sales and leads. They are also having your sales or lead tracks (records) and on those bases you will be rewarded. You will safe working with them. There are a lot of those programs that you can work with such as CJ, Sharesale, clixgalor, click2sell, linkshare or in-house affiliate programs such HostGator, BlueHost, DreamHost…is still keeping their promise by paying its affiliates on time.

Remember that there are a lot of new affiliate programs that promise to pay your 95% for any leads or sales but they will never do. So, you should be careful with these scams.

2.     Free Affiliate Programs with recurring commission:

Normally, affiliate programs pay you high commission rates. Sometimes you get up to 300% of your generated sales or leads but all of them are one-time commission. You will never get any commission if your referred clients extend their contracts with those providers. You have to refer new clients forever.

The smart way is to choose any affiliate programs that have recurring commission policy in place and you can enjoy your lifetime money with your referred clients. The amount of commission can be smaller than one-time pay rate but it is good if you have many recurring referrals. Magic Members is applying this or StableHost does the same.

3.     Affiliate programs that pay leads:

Not only sales but you can earn by bring leads for this type of programs. It is to hard to get approval to promote affiliate programs with leads but there are many programs that allow publishers to promote their free affiliate programs.

Where to find the appropriate affiliate programs that pays you for generating leads (Pay per Lead Affiliate Programs)?

You can search around in CJ, share sale or clixgalore as there are a lot of advertisers who pay for leads. The commission rat for each leads is always lower than sale but it is much easier to promote affiliate programs with leads rather than sales. Some programs with leads but still charge setup fees and they use that fees to pay for publishers and they loose nothing but get brand improved.

4.     Affiliate programs for products or services that you’re familiar with:

If you’re involved with a particular niche and perhaps have a network of people who could be your future prospects, it goes without say that you’ll likely become very successful with such programs. The same is true for hobbies, and others areas of common interest.

As usual, you are rather confident to promote what you know well or familiar with that a new products out of your knowledge. Your readers will trust you if you can support them after order and you can also improve your image with your readers too.

5.     Work hard and be patient:

Pay Per Lead or Action (CPA) networks are free to join affiliate programs that pay their affiliates a set amount when someone they refer completes an action. Generally these actions create a lead for the company paying the affiliate a commission. These pay per action or CPA affiliate affiliate networks are becoming very popular because instead of a referral having to make a purchase, they pay their affiliates a commission simply for referring someone that fills out a form.

Affiliate marketing programs are the first lot that website owners and bloggers start looking at when they want to monetise their sites or blogs. Google Adsense is the obvious name that comes to our mind when we talk of affiliate marketing. So recently when I went through that stage for another online venture of mine, I signed up for Adsense plus a host of other affiliate programs. 

What I didn’t realise that time was that the affiliate programs that work for the blogs or websites in the US might not necessarily work for a website with an Indian audience. The reasons can be many. The primary reason is that there are more Americans today who are buying stuff online than Indians. I recently read about somebody from Futurebaazar, supposedly one of India’s best online shopping portals, mentioning in a news story that out of the total number of visits the site gets in a day, the percentage of people who actually end up buying is so far minuscule. Online shopping is apparently a phenomenon not yet accepted fully by the Internet goers in India. I suppose the touch and feel at Ansal Plaza is what people want :-)

So, people here are more likely to click on ads that link to another service or another online site, rather than a product link. Maybe that is the reason why some people think Google Adsense works best among many affiliate marketing networks.

Secondly, there is the question of relevancy. There is no use advertising a New York service in your website targeted at the Indian audience. This led me to an online quest for Indian affiliate networks.
